It’s Wisconsin’s Adult School Crossing Guard Recognition Week (February 16–20)! 🗓️
Every day, rain or shine, snow or sleet, our dedicated crossing guards are at their posts ensuring our students make it to and from school safely. They are the first friendly faces our kids see in the morning and the steady hands that navigate traffic to keep our community safe.
Join Edgerton School District in saying THANK YOU to these essential safety leaders.
How you can help: ✋ Give them a wave and a smile! 🛑 Follow their signals and slow down in school zones. 💌 Have your student write a quick thank-you note.
Let’s show our crossing guards how much we appreciate their commitment to our kids' safety! 💛🧡

AFS-USA is offering incredible opportunities for students and families at Edgerton High School to host an exchange student and/or study abroad this year!
For over 75 years, families from Edgerton High School have signed up with AFS to welcome international exchange students from all across the world into our school. By signing up to host, you can give a student from another part of the world the experience of a lifetime and give your family the opportunity to learn about the world and build a meaningful intercultural connection! AFS is looking for host families for the 2026-2027 school year. In order to host, all you need to provide is a bed, three meals a day, transportation to/from school and related activities, and an open heart! Local volunteers will help you choose a student and support you during the entire exchange experience. Check out afsusa.org/host to learn more!
Thinking of studying abroad yourself? AFS offers summer, semester, and academic year programs in more than 40 countries! Become immersed in the culture, customs, language, and cuisine of another country, and learn a lot about yourself as well. And don't let the cost discourage you! Through the generosity of our national AFS family of supporters, AFS-USA was able to provide more than $1M in scholarships and aid last year alone! Apply for a summer exchange with AFS before March 5 to be considered for a scholarship! Go to afsusa.org/studyabroad and get connected to volunteers and returnees to learn more!
Meet two of the incredible students you could host at Edgerton next fall:
Momoka, a 17-year-old girl from Japan is a positive thinker who loves tennis, swimming, and volleyball! She enjoys spending time with her grandparents and making new friends. She can’t wait to try American foods and share her culture with you!
Leander, a 16-year-old boy from Germany is a friendly hockey player who enjoys participating in school council. He likes school and even programmed a small robot in his computer science class recently. He is excited for family dinners in America!
Please visit www.afsusa.org to learn more about AFS or contact local AFS Wisconsin Rep, Erica Ness at eness@afsusa.org & 262-445-0856. Erica is happy to answer any questions via email, phone, or text!"

ESD Families:
Starting next school year (2026-27), we will be making minor changes to school start and end times to address challenges related to the timing of students being dropped off at school in the morning at Community and Yahara Elementary Schools (specifically), as well as afternoon bus transfer challenges at the middle school due to added bus routes and the loading space limitations on the middle school site.
As a result of addressing these issues, we need to adjust the start and end times (beginning in the 2026-27 school year) for Community Elementary, Middle School, and the High School as follows:
Community Elementary - 8:05am-3:05pm (10 Minute Adjustment from 2025-26)
Middle School - 7:45am to 3:00pm (5 Minute Adjustment from 2025-26)
High School - 7:45am to 3:00pm (5 Minute Adjustment from 2025-26)
Yahara Elementary - 8:18am-3:18pm (start and end times will remain the same as 2025-26)
At the end of the school day on the main campus, beginning next school year (2026-27), our bus transfer will be moved from the Middle School bus loading area to the bus loading area between Community Elementary and the High School. Students at the Middle School will be shuttled via buses from the Middle School to the bus loading area between Community Elementary and the High School for transfer.
In support of student/family awareness, additional communication/s will be sent over the registration process for the 2026-27 school year and over the summer from building principals as we prepare for the new school year.
