Thanksgiving Break - November 26th - Dec 1st.
Kids in the Kitchen (KITK)

On Wednesday, November 19th at 3:00 p.m. Taher, Inc (Edgerton's food service provider) hosted a class of twelve fourth graders called Kids in the Kitchen (KITK).

District Chef Ben Van Galder-Rinehart and Food Service Director Pete Hamilton gathered the excited students in the High School kitchen for a tour of the facilities and to learn about how to make pizza from scratch along with finding out what it takes to make the dough rise.

The students went on to assemble three 7" pizzas for themselves, topped with various ingredients that you would find in a pizza restaurant. It was a pleasure to watch them take their boxed creations home to share with hungry family members!

We will once again be presenting this class some time in April so be on the lookout for the sign-up sheets!

Celebrating Our School Psychologists During National School Psychology Week! 🧡

This week, Wisconsin joins the nation in recognizing National School Psychology Week (Nov 3-7), and we couldn't be more grateful for our incredible team of ESD school psychologists.

This year's theme is "Finding Your Path,". Our school psychologists are truly the guides helping students, families, and staff navigate some of the most challenging moments in education. They're the ones teachers turn to when they need answers about SEL, behavior, mental health, and how to support struggling students. They're in the middle of tough conversations, helping teams make difficult decisions about special education services—often facing frustrated families and staff with grace, expertise, and compassion.

This week, our Primary School welcomed faculty from the University of Florida and University of Wisconsin - Madison to observe our phonics instruction as an exemplar in our area. Our visitors included the University of Florida Literacy Institute Director and UFLI Developer, Holly Lane and five faculty from UW-Madison's Department of Education. Our staff across grade levels demonstrated skilled delivery of a UFLI lesson and our students showed off all their phonics knowledge and did an amazing job participating in the lesson. We look forward to a continued partnership with Holly Lane and UW-Madison's Department of Education!
