Yes, it is true that I am a Chicago Bears fan.  I blame my parents, who are from Chicago.  I can't help it, I love Da Bears!

In my free time, I enjoy most any outdoor activity, especially something out in the woods or on a trail with my family.  I do a lot of running and like to compete in long distance events whenever I can (my goal is to complete 100 marathons or ultra-marathons before I need total hip/knee/ankle replacements).  I spend my summers mowing lawns and working on remodeling jobs around the area - winters I can be found around the neighborhood with a shovel.  I am a big believer in eating right, exercising, and enjoying nature!

My goal as an educator is to help children and young adults become independent learners and doers and to appreciate the outdoor environment and all it has to offer.  I never pass up the opportunity to emphasize the importance of helping others and doing the right thing.  As the Director of the Severson Learning Center in Cambridge, I feel I am in a unique position to do both of these things with an entire district of learners.
