I assist with coaching Quarterbacks and Linebackers. I also was named Co-Special Teams Coordinator with Tony DeWar for the upcoming season.
Experience:
This will be my 11th year with the Varsity program. I’ve also assisted the freshman for 2 years. I played football for Edgerton from 1997-2000 and was a 2-year letter winner. I also played 4 years of tennis from 1997-2000 and was a 4-year letter winner. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2005 with a degree in Environmental and Occupational Health Safety.
Family:
I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend Sarah and her daughter Kaci. My father John Thompson is currently on our staff as our statistician and quality control coach. My two brother Nick and Andrew both played football here at Edgerton and are both veterans of the United States Air Force and Army.
Passions:
My passions include bowling league and golf league. I am an avid Packers, Cubs, Blackhawks, Badgers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Albion Tigers fan. I spend much of my summer doing the sound for home Albion games. I do also find myself rooting for the Redskins, Chiefs, Browns, and Bucks. My passions also include cutting and processing beef into beef jerky, smoking meats, and making bratwurst. Roll Tide!
Position: Defensive Ends/Wide Receivers
I love coaching football because of the impact football has had on my development as a person and I want to share that with student athletes. I was an All-Conference Linebacker at St. Norbert College and 4 time conference champs. I grew up in Lake Mills and coached there for 10 years prior to moving to Edgerton. My wife (Renee) and I have five boys (Beau, Sean, Max, Alec and Eli). I am the pastor at Emmaus Community Church here in Edgerton. I love to be involved in our community and spend time with my family.
